Hi Travis, thanks for visiting again, I like the end you suggested, but this poem was entirely autobiographical, and spent I am not! My line "life ran away with time" can be likened to the "dish ran away with the spoon" from the nursery rhyme which starts "Hey diddle diddle"
To me that poem has always had connotations of fun, and the poem was about the joy and fun of catching up with an old friend "Fee" I was aware when I named the poem the connotation it might give, so I can see why you used the word "spent".
I really enjoy other people's contributions and slant on art and poetry, thank you :)
